A shallow rainband's flaring up - as a flat cyclone's core is passing our city, gives of a rather nice sound. A fresh sound of summer rain. Well, the temperatures are around 15-16°C - between mild and chilly. The rain bands are thin, so the rain will not last that long. Although around 21 mm (in total) have fallen (which later increased to 30.7 mm) at my balcony since midnight - which is (was) a lot more than the Tullinge Station.

In two days, SMHI predicts 26°C in Stockholm.

Exceptionally optimistic GFS outlook

Nevertheless the sound of rain feels romantic at the end of summer 2024. The late summer saga *might* even continue in unexpected ways... Or it is American GFS that calculates its the "Drama Queen Saga" ? Right now in the latest 06Z version, they are almost ridiculously optimistic. Such outlook has changed into a long stretching period of summer all the way into mid September. (With a stubburn russian anti-cyclone dominating our weather for almost 14 days)

One day later prognosis

They didn't change it that much. (Except for the end of the period, in which GFS now predicts only 15°C in Stockholm)

It appears that the big High Pressure area will be dominating our weather (The Russian anticyclone), and we are now expected to get temperatures between 25-30°C in Southern and Middle Sweden. GFS doesn't push the temperatures as high, while our SMHI does (Stockholm 28°C).

So, it seems to get real now that increasingly more weather centers get in agreement (and time moves closer).
