A weak cold front within a high pressure area is about to pass Stockholm with light clouds. Naturally the temperatures didn't reach 20°C, today - and instead stayed at a MAX of around 17°C. This morning it was still all clear - the city still residing within the warmer airmass of the high pressure area... (albeit in some places it cooled down during the night; such as Tullinge way outside of the city, with only 4°C.

Gothenburg/ Göteborg
brought it to Sweden's highest MAX with 24.4°C yesterday, while today it was Målilla in SE Southern Sweden, with 23.9°C
Summer is over in Stockholm
but we still have a couple days of warmer than normal weather to look ahead of. You see, in the end of September the normal MAX for Stockholm is usually only around 13-14°C. We are expected to get something between 15-19°C. Like next Monday (23 Sep) 19°C are expected. With Stockholm still within a warmer airmass compared to Northern Sweden, where autumn already has started - and winter is about to enter the scene in the mountains in Laponia.
SMHI writes today:
Cold air moving south
There is still a high pressure over southern Scandinavia that today gives a sunny day in quite a few places, but in the Lake Vänern region, Svealand and the mountains occasionally cloudy. In the northern Lapland mountains, showers of snow or rain and occasionally quite windy weather, but during the day the wind is decreasing.
Cold air has swept down from the north over Norrland and Svealand. Warm air still remains over large parts of Götaland.
End of next week: Autumn will roll in
as the temperatures might go down a lot more ... likely with a MAX of only 11°C. e.g. colder than average, as we enter the month of October
When does summer end - according SMHI ?
When I say "Summer is over" - it is my personal expression, not a definition. One is, when the temperature don't reach 20°C, anymore. The other i refer to is, when the night temperatures start to dip below 10°C more often than not.
Officially however, according to SMHI - summer isn't over until the average 24 hour temperatures are falling below 10°C 5 days in a row. In average this happens in the end of September - but in practice this shifts from year to year; sometimes you get it in the end of October, sometimes in the end of September.
SMHI about next week:
Upcoming week: Low pressure
New low pressure is approaching the country. On Tuesday, a fairly extensive area of rain and showers will move eastwards across the country, in the Lapland / Laponia mountains with some snow. In addition, occasionally windy weather. Further into the week, the details are uncertain, but the rest of the week also looks to be characterized by windy low pressure passages.
When Wine Corks turn red at Alvik Station
So, all signs point towards Autumn, and soon also nature will reflect those changes. We already have some trees showing red leafs, as well dry yellow-brown ones. However those are mainly caused due to the lack of rain earlier. The majority of trees are all green - including those clinging wine corks, which usually turn deep red, when autumn really is in progress. You can usually see the large stone wall along Alvik Metro station covered with a carpet of red leafs.
So far, they are very few (mid September), but is accelerating. 14 days earlier, you barely saw any red. Now the whole upper part has turned red.
