The riches of Winter Star Signs

can now be seen high up in the night sky. Glittering like a jewel box filled with wild flashing diamonds. Stretching from Aldebaran in Taurus high up in the south, to Capella in Auriga, Betelgeuse and Rigel in Orion. Procyon in Canis Minor and of course the very bright Sirius in Canis Major pretty low above the horizon. And we have a prominent guest mingling among the stars; the visibly orange planet Mars in the middle of Gemini - shining brighter than both Pollux and Castor.

Another neighbor but closer ends the scene to the east; the thinning Moon crescent approaching Leo and Regulus. The dark parts of the moon stand out with a visibly pronounced ash-gray light; It is the light from our earth illuminating the dark side of the Moon.

With totally newly awakened are my eyes i stare up, surprised how dark the night sky appears. That so many stars are visible, the air being unusual clear. There is not a single cloud in sight - while everybody is asleep. Nature is asleep.

It is all silent.

Temperatures have dropped to just 3°C might provide an explanation; A cooler airmass residing over our lands marking autumn being full swing.

Frost in Stockholm Tullinge

Not surprising of course, that a cold station like Tullinge, already reports frost with -0.5°C. while the artificial warmth in the city core, reports +5.2°C.

Even warmer it is at stations close to the warmer, Baltic Sea; like +8.2°C at Svenska Högarna way out and away from the Coast. Söderarm with +6.6°C and Landsort Deep South of us, with +8.9°C. while Gotska Sandön a lonely island in the middle of nowhere, has +9.3°C

While closer, still coast located places like Berga, report only +3.8°C. Berga/Muskö is a place where center of the Marine Military resides... once again.
