The above images were made with the Sigma ART 105/1.4 lens on the Fujifilm GFX 50s II mediumformat camera, taken at wide open aperture ƒ1.4
I wanted to see how the lens performs in the "open", e.g. in the city. It is actually the first time I have done that *blush*. What directly feels let's say awkward is the size and weight. It is literally too much...
Yet fun to have tested it in the wild a bit loser, indoors as well outdoors. The quality, sharpness and everything are stunning. No doubt. And some pretty pronounced corner highlight compression as i have mentioned several weeks earlier - which only becomes an issue when you have many highlights in the very corners and borders of the image. There you realize, that the lens isn't made for medium format.
Everything else, is simply top notch in terms of optical quality.
Every story has an end...
My Sigma ART 105mm will very soon get a very serious competitor; one that most likely will put it to a rest. At least for Fujifilm GFX cameras. The Sigma is simply too big and heavy...
Albeit, when using the Canon EF 200/2 L IS lens (2.6 kilo) ... being both larger and heaver compared to the 1.6 kilo Sigma *LOL* But Canon EF/RF lenses perform simply best on Canon cameras.
And; Fujifilm GF lenses perform best on Fujifilm GFX cameras.
