while i had it with me at work. It went better than expected, despite the length of the lens. I simply turned the lens hood around making it far more compact, when it wasn't. That way i could store it in the driver cabin without that it would fall or hinder me while working and moving all the time.
For most of the time, when I drive the metro train, I am not taking photos. It is often only when I am at an end station. Or in the train depot, where I have lots of freedom (except that I never take any 'sensitive' images of train and rapair equipment). I am maily into details and impressions outdoors or from the traindepot where the wagons are stationed. In the repair facilities i never take photos these days.
Anyway - the main purpose was simply for me to see if the larger Fuji GF 110mm lens is OK to have with me at work. REsult: It wasn't too large or bothersome. Especially not with retracted lenshood and lens cover.
A Couple at Hötorget Station
There was a nice little scene between a man and a woman sitting on a bench. It somehow had something graphical about it, while the human aspect took a central stage, in all its silent language. Giving the station a warmer touch, compared to the monotonous station subway station.
Hötorget station has just been restored to its original look with new tiles made up with 8 different shades of blue / greenish blue/gray. And there is not a single advertising present, other than two classics from the 60s.
Which actually is wonderful to let sink in.
I mean we are normally surrounded by all that clutter of advertising when walking into a subway station... Or worse, in a subway wagon.
You see every single hair
being sharp, while i used the lens at wide open aperture ƒ2. So, yeah, the lens is really something. A great short telephoto lens for a mediumformat camera. Fuji did here very well. And the lens itself is less noisy when you take photos or preview photos, it doesn't rack lens elements back and forth, every time you touch the camera. The GF 110/2 is very pleasant to handle. The Linear motor (LM) in the focus also makes a nice overall physical difference. Much quieter and smoother. Why did they skip Linear motors in the GF 55mm ƒ1.7 lens ?
The GF 55mm ƒ1.7 is a weird acting lens - making so much noise (rattles back and forth) whenever you do something with the camera (even when not focusing / taking images, I mean) Why does it have to rack back and forth lens elements every time you do something with the camera, for example when only previewing images ?!?!
I do not understand that.
