I rather prefer the unspoiled, very high quality of the native Fujifilm GF lenses: which means I am not using the FotodioX 11mm extension tube with them.

It works best with other vintage lenses that do not exhibit floating lens elements (FLE).

Marvel Duo

Both the Fujifilm GF 55mm ƒ1.7 and the GF 110mm ƒ 2 lenses I love to use at wide open aperture. Showing already such a delightful good optical quality, with fine sharp details. Combined with minimal depth of sharpness (which can at times be tricky to manage).

Even if both lenses cost me

a little fortune - I must say, these two lenses do extend the usefulness of the Fujifilm GFX mediumformat platform to a higher level. Both are very bright lenses. We never got spoiled in that regard, when it comes to mediumformat lenses during the film days. Even among today's Fuji GF lenses, many start at aperture ƒ 2.8, ƒ 3.5 and ƒ 4. Some even at ƒ 4.5 and ƒ 5.6

Having access to ƒ1.7 and ƒ 2 is a delight in my opinion, and helps the mediumformat platform to extend low light photography (without tripod).

A sucker for bright lenses

Well, I've always been a sucker for bright / fast lenses. Ever since I bought the Leica Noctilux-M back in 1988... which was extremely frustrating. It wasn't until I got a digital Leica, the Noctilux was able to show off how good is actually was. While with ISO 400 film, that never came to the fore. So, i often felt stupid for over 2 decades, that i ever bought it.

Today, I know how to use it, which also works with Sony A7s, and Canon EOS R6 - especially with portraits, who are turning out delightful.
