Yesterday was preliminary the last hot / warm summer days in Sweden. Oskarshamn at the Southeast Coast, brought it to 33.2°C... while a coldfront then raved across the country rapidly.

Over Stockholm Arlanda Airport in the later evening, the temperatures fell within 10 MINUTES a whopping 10°C, falling from 21.9°C to 12°C while Stockholm 43 km to the south, still had 23°C.

Similar reports i noticed from places like Gävle, Uppsala etc. Here in Rågsved / Snösätra, just south of Stockholm city, the drop was not as rapid - but it did over a couple hours fall around 8°C - and now it is just 13°C. The previous evening we had around 17-19°C around a time of 22.00 (which is often the time i am preparing for work).

So, yeah, it is cooler now. And there are more chilly winds predicted to come from the north in the next days. The beginning of a hurricane in the tropics, after it later is thought to re-curve the Atlantic and go into the westerlies, might then steer much warmer air back to Scandinavia. But the prediction versions are not in agreement. GFS thinks so, while the European weather prognosis isn't as confident that the warm air would stay.

Anyway those "prognosis" are over week away. Which means a lot of water can flow along the rivers during that time - and change things anew.
