really, really, dearly !

An almost total lack of lightning !

One thing puzzles me: It was the worst thunderstorm year i can remember since 1984. I have not seen a single lightning strike - but heard only a few times some distance thunder. That was all. So strange !!

I did get some wonderful dramatic looking cloud images, especially during August - but each and every time - it went like this: Up like a sun, and down like a pancake. Nothing.

The skies played Ludo. "Fia med knuff".

Whenever I thought we gonna get some nice thunderstorms... it all went *puff*.

Almost nothing.

Other places in Sweden, where much more lively, including the Extreme north too, received quite a lot of thunderstorms (given that they had subtropical continental air, which resulted into quite some action up there). Normally Norrland (North Sweden) is where you have least thunderstorm activity, and in the mountains often none.

This season - It is almost over

And now, the thunderstorm season is ebbing out significantly. We MAY perhaps get 1-2 times events - or none at all. October thunderstorms are rare. Perhaps an event out of sea, which is relatively warm, and when ice cold air streams over the sea, they usually form thunderstorms over the Baltic Sea. Sometimes I get a glimpse of them from my balcony, which is directed towards the east.

The Big Void

Then the big void comes along lasting until next May or June. I am however happy when bulbious clouds start rising. That in itself is fantastic to observe and follow.

Usually with my camera nearby, of course.
