One thing i would like to explore, in simplicity without doing something like big galaxies and planets.... are Astro landscapes. To extend the light of the stars without turning into streaks.

I really mean it in a simplistic way, to gather more light from the stars without turning into streaks. Now since i am living in a large city, the capacity to gather light is limited, because of the surrounding stray light from thousands of street lights. But there is still some wiggle room to extend exposure times (and stars) without that streetlights take over too much (due to overexposure).

So, sooner or later i WILL invest into a star tracker.

Something like this (Skywatcher). Costs around 5200 SEK / 460 €. Which i think is affordable compared to buying TWO mediumformat lenses for Fujifilm GFX, for 30.000 SEK / 2800 € a piece...Well, at least I am good in paying them off rapidly and consistently. Paying only 200 SEK for interest for one lens, because of the speed i am paying them off.

So, there should be wiggle room for an Astro tracker in the future.

My thoughts of an Astro tacker are old...

but i never took the plunge. I probably hesitated because I never thought myself to be that much into Astro. Which I am not. But for landscape photography, in order to enhance the quality of stars and objects, i really love the thought of investing into one. Even for moon photography, it would be fun. Being able to follow the moon, while also stopping down the apertures, in order to generate better sharpness.

I guess i have to learn a lot regarding Astro photography. But I am not interested into deep space objects (like nebulae, galaxies and similar). I just want to extend the exposure times of lenses - beyond the earth rotation. Usually you can make longer exposures (light gathering), with wide angle lenses, but shorter with telephoto lenses.

Also for some occasional comet photo, i would appreciate an Astro tracker - enabling to use a little longer exposure time. I might even do some excursions with a tripod and tracker, going to darker places.... like 20 km south of Stockholm. After all, there is a commuter train which would enable me to get to such places, by walking away from the station a couple kilometers.... and do night sky landscape photography.

I think that is exciting.
