Leica just introduced the Leica M EV1 - which is a digital fullframe Leica M camera, but without physical rangefinder. Instead you use an integrated LCD viewfinder.
Not sure how that has been implemented - but i am out of the Leica experience since a long time. (But I'll keep an eye on what they are doing, of course). Nevertheless, I got my own "Leica" experience - in which one of my favorites is the combination of SONY A7s camera + the tiny pancake Leica Summicron-M 35/2 "IV" lens.
It is an imperfect lens, but with lots of character and funny bokehballs. Due to the extreme high sensitivity from the Sony A7s sensor, it creates absolutely stunning black & white images !
It is perfectly imperfect, bringing it closer to the "Leica" experience. Naturally, the Sony A7s and its thick sensor stack (glass), isn't made for Leica M lenses, where the corners look terrible blurry.
However, the imperfect Leica Summicron-M 35/2 "IV" lens, performs just about the same, I remember from both Leica M9 and the analog Leica M6 camera. That way, it is one of those lenses who have the same "imperfect" character - being all the same. Especially in black & white photography, it is such a lovely (and SMALL) combo.
No IBIS, no AF - just plain ol' manual focus.
