The irony about rats is, that they are not only intelligent and very social - but also extremely clean !!

I often wonder why they got such a bad reputation ? Because of the Black death ? Well, revolving the myth of plaque caused by rats... has a very different origin.

Read the book "New Light on the the Black Death - the Cosmic Connection", by a scientist Mike Baillie, who is a Dendrochronologist ! It is one of the most exciting book i have read. I guess because the subject interested me so much - so i read it all at once.
