Boy, it hit me somewhere in the second week of January; this creeping feeling from behind, when the body starts to minimize your activity and level of inspiration to a minimum. Suddenly, everything feels sleepier and far more unengaged. You just live to get around through the day, so to speak. Enthusiasm is a word of the sunny past.

Those are, sometimes, how the days feel during deep winter in Scandinavia. When the clouds dominate, and you face an endless gray. Not that it was that much better in other places of Europe... However in Scandinavia it was particularly dull for most of the time. That combined with very low temperatures, especially in the north in which temperatures often didn't go above -30°C, several times dipping below -40°C. But that's really more typical for Laponia in winter. Luckily we didn't have it that cold here in Stockholm. Yet, it did sometimes dip several times -20°C.

Winter came

with snow on 1 January 2026 ending the longer period of mild weather during December 2025. Since the beginning of this year - it has been throughout winter with snow on the ground. This morning, temperatures went down to -25°C in the distant places of East Svealand (larger Stockholm Area) - while the city itself was of course milder with -12°C during morning hours.

9 hours of sunshine today

Just out of irony and complaint over the past months - we had almost 9 hours of sunshine ! The first time since October with a truly sunny day. You can see that in the chart below, registering every day's sunshine since October 2025.

When it comes to 2024-25

e.g. previous winter period - you can see a rather sunny autumn for Stockholm - where most months were above average monthly sunshine, making it rather pleasant compared to other years, when the 30 Ø day average dipped to practically 0 hour sunshine hours like it did in 2020-21. That was really one hell of a dull winter. Many of my indoor plants died. Even this winter, i see strains on several of my plants (which are now of hardier sort, since we replaced them) - but some did die after all.

Here you see

for example that when you follow the pink line for 2024 monthly sunshine, that autumn clearly stood out compared to previous and latter years; including September, October, November being a lot sunnier than normal. While Autumn/winter 2025, was clearly below - or perhaps more like average I would say. While autumn/winter 2020 was on the bottom side.

Well that was such a weird time at almost ever level... as if we reflected the onset of craziness, manifesting into reality. I mean that the craziness we allowed to happen with us - then "spilled over" into other areas of our 'reality'; e.g. weather, sunshine, etc. Like an energetic influence spilling over, through manifestation / alteration.

Not unlike we tend to say; that when the shit hits the fan in our personal lives, an accident rarely comes in single numbers. Like when you encounter a period in your live, where just everything seems to go south. Accidents rarely come alone, so to speak. Like a string of dark pearls, manifesting into your life, with shit "happening", one after the next.
