| Yeah, it has been very much winter for most of the time since 1 Jan 2026 - with temperatures down to the most -25°C in the outermost places of Great Stockholm. While in the city it reached at times almost -15°C. Which in comparison to the strongest extremes in history - is almost nothing. We are talking about -30°C in Stockholm city. I believe the absolute record for the City is -32°C. (but i don't remember the year that was).
Still - the ice cold temperatures registered this year are respectable, especially in the outer outskirts. Snow cover has been existent since 1 January 2026, which at the most reached around 30 cm here in Snösätra, 7 km south of the city.
