The guy at eBay "starmodels", located in Spain - does a fantastic job in re-creating spaceships from the 1983 TV-Series "V" (The Visitors) and "The Final Battle"

As i mentioned before, i have always dreamed of doing images with a good mothership model, combined into various scenarios. Here i use mainly various lighting, combined with a Photoshop plug-in called "Glitterato" creating star like background. For the creation of moons and earth-like planets, I use "Lunar Cell". Both plug-ins are made by the company Flaming Pear - which have been around for at least 20+ years.

AI isn't needed in any way - at least not in the photo above. When I use it (Photoshop's AI), then it is to take things away, correct, or expand fires and light painting trails). It is too primitive to do full scenarios. None of the models, internal or external are any good for really high resolution images. So, i don't bother too much. Nevertheless, for blurry background, the internal Photoshop AI is actually very, very good. Also in taking away image elements that don't belong there, works very well.

The "V" mothership model

i bought has illumination, which however can be a little harsh and almost too strong. (I put an adapter in between, which allows me now to steer the light levels in 7 steps, making it far easier to take images of the mothership, without that the illuminated windows blow out / become far too bright in the exposure).

I had preferred that a sort of diffuser would been put behind the windows inside the mothership. At least for photography i would have been better. (I have not dared to open the model, and don't know if it is "clicked in" or glued). Therefore I leave it "as it is" for now.

The chrome vertical pillar on which the mothership is mounted, i spray painted black, so that it melts into the background in my room - which mostly have dark walls. The black paint also makes it easier to erase the pillar in photos.

The stand itself is a bit light. Here a sort of heavy, metal plate of some sort - would make it stand more stable due to increased weight. Well, I am not shy to do that myself.

Nevertheless - i absolutely LOVE the way he made a "weathered" "V" mothership. It is incredibly pretty - and I will soon send him an email with my appreciation to his art of creating such things. He should sign his creations, too. After all - he puts a part of his spirit into the creations he makes for other people.

I may even order one of those smaller spaceship (the small ones you often see in the "V" series).
