Splendid !

The 645 Pentax 150/3.5 lens is really good. I like it the more I use it.

Just a pity that the image stabilization didn't work. It introduced very quickly micro blur as soon I dropped below 1/100 sec.

However, that was my fault, because i chose a two adapter solution for the adaptation of Pentax 645 lenses on the Fujifilm GFX (Originally I aimed that being a solution for the photo studio & studio flashes - for which it doesn't need image stabilization). Then i failed to realize, that the image stabilization never got activated when i took hand held images with the longer Pentax zooms.

Silly me.

Electronics got confused

I think the electronics in the Fringer EF-GFX adapter confuses the camera, as I then add a P645-EF (dumb) adapter on top. Then the manual lens. I think that fucked things up.

I dialed in the focal length of the 150 mm lens manual in the camera - but it never registered that in the image files. That's when it hit me today - one year later - that the camera never used IS for any of the Pentax 645 lenses with a double adapter.

Anyway. Soon to be past

Then all my Pentax 645 lenses will have AF, image stabilization as well EXIF data.

This should makes the longer lenses much more usable handheld - including the manual 645 Pentax 150 mm ƒ3.5 lens.

When i took the image of the tree and lighter shining leafs behind our house - at wide open aperture ƒ 3.5 - you can see every detail in them ! So, even at wide open aperture at a larger distance - it is actually even sharper lens compared to when you focus on something 2.3 meter away. (makes sense - as this is typical for optical designs without floating lens elements; at the closest min focus distance - the optical performance drops).

Long min focus distance: 1.40 meter

There is "disadvantage": This manual 150/3.5 lens has a longer MIN focus distance of 1.40 meter. The 645 Pentax FA autofocus version, gets it slightly closer with 1.20 meter.

However. Because the manual lens doesn't have floating elements - it should work very well with the 11mm extension ring, bringing me closer than 1.40 meter - without the optical performance dropping too much.

Nice ! Well then. I got my 150 mm lens for the Fujifilm GFX camera after all. At no extra costs. I had it for many years already. Just waiting to be re-discovered !

Ta-daaaaa. Weheeee !
