Vitamin-C
is also recycled in the body. Some cells in your body only uses the re-used form of Vitamin-C called DHA. If the body has too much of the reused form of Vitamin-C, the DHA, then either it gets further re-used elsewhere, or simply put out into the urine. That's it.
No harm, what so ever !
Imagine the importance of Vitamin-C
Our cells can not divide without Vitamin-C. We can't make skin without it. We can't make bone or cartilage without Vit-C. It is also very important for the development in a fetus.
The amniotic fluid, in which the baby is embedded into, has 3 times the amount of vitamin-C compared to the mother ! It will take as much Vitamin-C from the mother, even if the mother would have too little of it.
That important is Vitamin-C for human life. So, pregnant mothers need PLENTY of vitamin C in their diet - for sure - and should supplementing.
Eyes
The cells in our eyes need lots of vitamin-C. (As i mentioned on the previous page, some cells groups in our body need more Vitamin-C than others.
Skin
enormous amounts of Vitamin-C molecules are used in the formation of skin (collagen). Vitamin-C stimulates collagen synthesis and is absolute necessary for healthy skin and proper cell function.
Calcium ?! Meh...
When everybody is peaching about that people need more calcium - because otherwise "you get fragile bones" - but we are not doing them any favor. In fact, it is sufficient amounts of Vitamin-C which is the key factor (as is vitamin-D, K2 for mineralization) in/for bones !!
Careful with that extra Calcium !!
Calcium we usually get more than plenty of. So, don't use a Vitamin-C form with Calcium (such as Calcium ascorbate or Ester-C / Ester Vitamin-C) Avoid that truly !
Or taking lots of extra calcium as a supplement. That excessive Calcium is going to places, you do not want it to be; into the soft tissues; heart, blood vessels, brain.
Bad idea.
We need instead lower amounts of calcium, for bone strength !! Because you need the micro nutrients, that tell the Calcium where to go in the body; (Taking more Vit-C, Vitamin D+K2, trace minerals Cu, Mn, Zn and Boron, as well other micro nutrients e.g. B vitamins.
That is the key to bone strength.
Not more calcium for heavens sake.
