Spontaneous photo
Of Sal who just sat down at the subway in Rågsved - as he adjusted his hair. The eye lashes are sharp, despite of having used open aperture ƒ4 and focused only once - it was spot on.
I actually managed to INTRODUCE various color fringing in his hair (But thought it was the lens) - because i tried to eliminate existent chromatic aberrations - not realizing that my corrections resulted into greenish and purple patches in Sal's white hair.
Not until now as i wanted to demonstrate the effect - reverting the image to its original state - and the color fringing disappeared in his hair.
*LOL*
So, i was the cause of the excessive fringing in his hair... hahaha. I find it tricky to eliminate chromatic aberrations and LoCA - because it sometimes introduces unwanted other strange colors around finer details.
*rolling my eyes*
I think this lens is great for Black & White photography !! In color, I feel more ambivalent about its varying performance. Also stray light does sometimes affect images if the source is too close to the borders (outside of the frame) lowering the overall contrast.
Black & White... again
But in Black & White - i consider it to be an excellent lens. Striking a fine balance and renders the gray tones a lovely way, still showing a little bit of that "analog feeling", as it is also more than sharp enough for both portraits at 2-5 - 3 meter, and distant objects. |
