Arrival expected

So - today is the day, the Fujinon GF 500 mm ƒ 5.6 OIS [400 mm] lens arrives at my place. The weather is perhaps not ideal for shooting with a super telephoto lens - but at the same time (for the time being) it isn't such bad weather either. Just some rain here and there.

Weather sealed

The lens as well the camera GFX 100s II are weather sealed - and tolerate some rain drops - which is actually very nice. The Pentax 645 lenses are not weather sealed in any way. But regardless, i am often rather careful how I handle camera and lenses.

Olympus was exceptional in that regard

The only brand i feel can tolerate excessive weather conditions, are the Olympus EM1 II, III, EM1X. Truly rugged. (i have exposing them myself, so I know that they tolerance fascinating much). How OM System with OM-1 and OM-1 II, as well OM-3 handle weather, I don't know.

I still find it to be a pity that Olympus sold its camera division to OM System. Olympus was an amazing company - but did some economical shit and corruption [?] (twice). They skills in terms of creating professional lenses, was truly outstanding.
