Yes, the partial solar eclipse over Stockholm back in time - 20 March 2015 - was a true anti climatic experience. The most anticlimatic of all I have seen. I stood at my balcony... Still, it was (barely) visible, instead of not being visible at all.
The high / middle high clouds were pretty dense, but let the sun though ever so slightly... Photographically... uh... what a mess. Boring like hell. And that too is part of the experience being a photographer
*LOL*
Solar Eclipse 2015
It did have a shadow of totality, but in a limited area above the arctic circle. In the town of Torshavn on the Faroe Island, was once of the few places the shadow of totality took place. With a duration of 1 minute 59 seconds.
Further to the north, it could also be seen on the islands of Svalbard, with 2 minutes and 28 seconds totality in the town of Longyearbyen.

Tomorrow's Solar Eclipse 2026
Here is a map showing the path of totality as well the half shadow area covering the Atlantic and Europe. In theory, even Sicily is in the path of "totality" but after sunset - which could be a very interesting phenomena, because you would experience a total eclipse at greater height inthe atmosphere, shorten dusk during totality, as it suddenly gets unusual dark / totally dark - right during the time of the twilight.
I've always wondered about such a phenomena.
Total Solar Eclipse AFTER SUNSET
Wikipedia had something written about that:
Solar eclipse below the horizon
Due to the considerable eclipse gamma (more than 0.8), observers where the totally eclipsed Sun is just below the horizon will have the chance to observe the lunar shadow in the high atmosphere as well as shortened civil twilight and extended nautical twilight. The darkening of the twilight sky could improve the chances of observing the inner Zodiacal light.

Sal & I
have this evening decided to travel to the extreme southern tip of Spain, for the Total Solar Eclipse on 2 August 2027 - which lasts almost up to 5 minutes !!!
Sal has friends in Malaga, who bought a house in the surrounding. We could ask them if we could stay with them during a week.
5 minutes totality... can you image ?!
