It wasn't just the day of the Solar Eclipse, but also our, Sal and I, 9 year anniversary of marriage. And it was 12 years ago we've met... talk about time is flying by. It isn't just a saying... I realize that now.

Sal send me this...

Ain't he a cutie

Perseid Meteor Showers

And it was the night of the Perseid maximum after midnight. So, three events. Originally we thought we go out and lie down in the grass looking into the sky, watching the Perseid meteor shower's maximum... However since Sal had worked all day, and we both were a bit tired - we "celebrated" at our balcony instead. With wheat beer and a lot of goofy photos i took with the new, ultra bright Laowa Argus 35mm ƒ0.95 lens. And it was such a joy to take photos with such a bright lens in such a dark environment.

Two Bright Meteors

To our surprise, at around 22.00 sitting there on the balcony, the twilight still in progress towards the North showing a nice blue sky - TWO bright meteors came down. Although it was before midnight - it surprised us to be able to see a few. They were in the Planet Venus class brightness - easily to discern, despite the emerging clouds (which later increased a lot more).

So, we never made it past midnight - instead jumping straight into bed, sleeping like a log almost immediately.
