It was a relatively "frosty" morning - at least it felt chilly, despite a temperature of around 12°C. There was also some wind, especially when you got up to the hill - Skinnarviksberget - which gives you an almost 360 degree view over Stockholm City in all directions.

Towards the south it is a bit more difficult to see landmarks as clearly (The Globe Arena is nowadays largely hidden by other building, and you only see the top of it). But towards the west, north and east - the view is totally free.

An interesting, central viewpoint for sure

- and very popular during summer, or if there is an event like a Solar Eclipse. I had my Canon EOS R6 fullframe camera with me, and the Canon EF 300/4 L IS lens attached to it. When i made photos against the bright glaring light (with the city hall in front), the results looked dreadful. I had difficulties to get the bluish haze out of the photos... but after some times - here below, things look actually pretty decent. But the feelings wasn't there. Somehow i felt like everything looked BLÄH...

Post processing does help later in Photoshop, in order to iron out the strong contrast and to make the colors go more natural.

Overall, some nice shots i still got away with :-) In fact, I am pretty bad in documenting views of Stockholm, as i almost never do that. You know, like just showing how Stockholm city looks like from afar. Postcard images, so to speak. I haven't done this for ages...

An unusual photo year 2026

Nevertheless, this year I have been unusual active in my photography, wandering around during morning times. I don't know how many times i have been out and about after work, very early morning. 10-15 times most likely.

I often thought, that i am really shitty about going out, taking photos. For the sake of taking photos i mean. I think since the days of Daniel back in 2009-2013, I have barely been out. Instead i often take photos on my way to work, or more often, after work - in the environment i am on my way home. But i barely went out into the city, for the sake of showing Stockholm City.

Strange...
