A time in Scandinavia

where in periods the sun doesn't shine. Sometimes not for weeks - except endless gray dull dark clouds hovering across our skies. The mood becomes more and more gloomy towards January (Which you can partially ease when using IU 20.000 Vitamin D3+K2 daily or every second day !!). Great tip, believe me - giving you a big boost in health (as well against infections turning bad).

Anyway.

Lots of indoor photography during winter

During that time i tend to do a lot of indoor photography. If it isn't making digital copies form many thousands of film negatives - then it is playing with macro, focus bracketing and stacking.

SmallRig Macro Video lights

From SmallRig i recently bought some really awesome lights, that can help to illuminate a smaller portion of a subject or object.

In 5 different light levels, plus white, alt. warm light, red, green, blue, orange. The light arms are so solid, and bendable - like i haven't seem something so nicely made for a long time.

Something that actually makes sense when it comes to flower and macro images. You know, table top photos of smaller things. Or Star Wars and X-Men figures in action on a "scene".

There are all kinds of additions in the package, from Gobos (projecting light though a mask with cut-out shapes images onto a background, like you can do with studio flashes, too). It even has Barn doors, as well white diffusers. The lamp heads themselves can steer the angle of the light, between slim and broad. (there are even more attachments in the box).

CRI 95

The CRI of the white light is very high with 95. (It is an indicator of the pureness in the light LCD light source, being able to reproduce a true colorscale in a true fashion. 95 to 98 are among the very best you can get.

You charge the built-in battery with USB-C. It holds lights up to 3 hours, i believe. Or almost 3 hours. In theory you can also use these arms for light painting, of course !! Writing in the sky... Or illuminating things while moving the lights during a longtime exposure.

Only your fantasy sets the limits.

Truly wonderful helper tool in photography. The finish is so smooth - it is a delight to even touch those arms when you bend them.

They really doesn't feel cheap the slightest.

PS: The (last) image of the monstera, is made in normal daylight without any other lights enabled
