During the first 18 days of July 2024, sunshine hours have been rather poor, compared to previous years. And given that July 2023 last year was unstable, on the chilly side and rainy... it still made it above 9 hours daily sunshine. Now, we are at 7 hours only. That is pretty low.
However, while it does feel "chilly", the average temperature for the first 18 days this month, are only ever so slightly below average. It is the milder (cloudy) nights, which drives up the overall temperature. And during daytime it has been decent temperature-wise.
But no stable summer weather period. On the contrary !
Sunny Summer was in May & June 2024
but not July 2024. Nor July 2023. Nor August 2023 - which was a big let down.
The only nice aspect now is, that the nights are pretty mild as we are at the peak of the average annual temperature curve and don't really had any direct inflow of polar airmasses. So, the temperatures are nice at night.
Now, we have reached the annual peak; after the first week in August - it is going downwards all the way until it reaches the low point in the first and econd week in Feb 2025
Oh shoot
Let's not think of that just yet.
