Well and since I spoke about the Leica Noctilux-M 50/1 character images previously - the Laowa Argus 28mm f 1.2 immediately comes into mind, because it has a similar "fingerprint" like the Noctilux; a kind of special image drawing - only with the difference that the Argus has a much wider view.
A Wide Noctilux, so to speak.
The extreme aperture of ƒ1.2 is fantastic (and unique) for a 28mm wide angle lens. The only one I am aware of in existence. I used it a lot in Sicily when I traveled there back in April 2024. I think it is a phenomenal lens due to its special character (black & white, low light levels, high ISO).
You normally don't associate a 28 mm wide angle with strong background seperation. The Laowa Argus 28/1.2 however does exactly pull that off; seperating people from the background - like with Ruth in the main photo above. |
