It is really puzzling. I can't remember ANY major thunderstorm event over Stockholm this year. Instead, we have a (very few) overpass of thunderstorms, giving off something like 3-4 lightning strikes - and that was it. A few times I slept during the day, in which the radar showed me that t-storms passed - but I didn't wake up.

And there were times when i saw thunderstorm clouds from a distance.

That was it.

Nothing major, not even large in 2024 (this far). Now the thunderstorm season in Stockholm is going towards its end. We may get another 1-2 events - and that's it for the rest of the year (in general).

Strange.

I really miss thunderstorms up here

Albeit I have also gotten more respectful of such things - and don't expose myself too much to lightning, such as walking outside. But from the balcony I have a wonderful view allowing me to observe thunderstorms in relative safety. Man, I always get so excited when watching thunderstorms. All my life, i 've noticed that there is a certain kind of energy flowing through my body and senses. Like heightened senses, which reminds me (a little bit) like being "one with nature".

As if connecting to the energies of weather, being aligned somehow (even if my rational mind can't explain it). It has happened so often, especially in the past. And I have experience it with Per-Olof, who when he was younger, seemed to be "one with thunderstorms". Well, he was an electrical expert (worked as a repair man at the subway depot for a coupe decades), once truly skilled in everything related to metal and electricity. With a deep connection to everything related to thunderstorms.

Boy, did we have fun in 1992-94 !!! Both so fascinated by lightning - like two geeks really hitting it off together *LOL*

Over the years

Per-Olof seemed to have lost his ability, his special sense, as his mind kind went gradually into a "parallel world", like somebody who steps of his path meant to walk and further to explore... But didn't listen. We often don't listen when our ego is too strong, you know. On top of illness, and drugs to cope with it, he lost his connection - but his ego insists still to have it all.

But he it no longer. It may be difficult to realize or even admitting that for ourselves, as we are getting old, or too sick. I don't know.

Nevertheless, its my interpretation abouyt him, which is not necessarily the truth. Just my personal perspective on Per-Olof during the latter years. We have not had any contact since I broke it off back in 2016-17.

Autumn Baltic Sea Thunderstorms

From time to time, you can observe thunderstorm far out over the Baltic Sea - while the inland has clear skies, the typical anvils are visible over the still warm sea, the in the photo below 19 Aug 2014. This phenomena can go on all the way into October.
