Ear infection almost gone
I am much better now with my left ear - the hearing has almost entirely returned, my sense of balance has gotten better, and it doesn't leak fluids anymore. I have been only treating it daily (2-3 times) every day with real, true home made olive oil from Gabi, Sal's sister in Sicily. That really made my ear gradually heal. (forget other treatment, they just seem to make things worse. Garlic oil also works well - but everything else i had earlier tested - didn't make anything better .On the contrary. It was waste money).
There is still a feeling of "thickness" inside my ear - but at least i am doing overall better now. Which I am very thankful for - and soon can return to work again. Albeit i still have two ordinary days off on Sunday-Monday.
Still Summer
In the mean time, it seems like summer is still lasting here in Stockholm. albeit there has been some rain, and lots of clouds - but the temperatures are higher than normal for this time of the year. After all, we are closing in on the end of the month. I consider any day above 20°C, be pure luxury and pleasure. After all, we are living in Scandinavia pretty much high in the north. I don't take it for granted that August days are summer warm. Still remembering those cold days in August in the mid 80s... that wasn't fun. It made the summers feel prematurely short in Stockholm (compared to Berlin from where i came).
The GFS calls for the creation of a high pressure area over Scandinavia, which would give us lots of sunshine as well temperatures up to 25-26°C at best, even into the month of September.
Truth to be told, I am not really the kind of guy who is out and about a lot. I love home, and the computer - and read and write and take photos with various projects. So, i enjoy that it is warm outside, albeit i am not really "using" the weather for outdoor activities *grin*
Strange dude, I know.
Epson EcoTank ET-8550 printer
has already arrived at the post office yesterday ! I'll get it today.
Also an "ink Potty" from the UK its on its way (to take are of waste ink that gets flushed through the printer head, and collected. This way, I do not needs to change any pads nor buy any "maintenance boxes". And a digital resetter from China will come in a couple weeks, in order to reset the chip inside the maintenance box, when needed.
And more ink, I ordered as well.
Therefore, over the course of weeks, I'll be printing a lot bigger, and see where that all goes. It is nice to have a printer that is so flexible as the ET-8550 appears to be. I am also curious about Black & white printing... which appears to be better with the ET-8550, compared to the little ET-1810 (which only uses dye based ink, while the ET-8550 uses pigmented photo black ink - while the rest is dye based, including another black ink, as well gray)
Apparently the pigmented black ink gets activated when printing on matte paper ! Which ensures that you get deep blacks on matte paper. Dye based inks usually results into mellow, funky black-gray without much depth ! The gray ink on this model, plays a major roll in modulating various shades of colors.
I am really, really excited.
Far less problems with the newer generation
of Epson print heads
Another aspect i love about the new generation of Epson printers is, that since they made new printer heads, it seems that those are not clogging easily. Many people have said, that they printed a couple of years, without ever running into any issues. Also gone is the pesky change between black vs photo black, where you had to flush the printer head each and every time you shifted between them - and waste a lot of precious, very expensive ink. And often run into problems (clogging). Generating more ink flushes. Oh UH !
Now, you don't need to change anything, nor do you need to flush extra ink.
I love it ! I really do. |
