I thought of it very briefly earlier - to replace the Fotodiox adapter foot which is attached with two small screws - with a ring-adapter foot instead. Those you normally use for lenses.
I wasn't sure if the same size of Fotodiox RZ67/GFX adapter even exists.
Now i seem to have found one, that is almost the same size, just a notch larger in diameter compared to the Fotodiox diameter. This lens-foot from iShoot - measures 68mm, while the Fotodiox adapter has a diameter of 67,16 mm). I may have to thicken the missing space with something, in order to fit snuggly.
Will see how i go about it hat, later.
Allowing free rotation (horizontal/vertical) !

If this works - then it gives me a nice advantage: I would be able to rotate the camera+adapter+RZ67lens freely, without having to remove them from the tripod at all. Just rotating the whole thing... Voilá. That makes photography a LOT easier.
At least in theory. If things work out, I mean.
The requirement is, that I must remove the original Fotodiox tripod-foot with those tiny, weak screws that already bent and made the adapters highly unstable / with the risk one day simply to snap off.

An affordable solution (if it works...)

This is - for the time being - a way more affordable alternative (350 SEK) tp fix the whole adapter stability & safety issue. Compared of buying a new adapter which at least would run 9500 SEK / 830 € for the straight Hartblei version (which allows free rotation). While the adapter with shift, runs for a whopping 16600 SEK / 1500 €.
Those are pretty big numbers. |
