I mentioned before that most stitching software can't handle image-parts which don't contain any details. Trying to get them together into a panorama or other larger image - mostly fails.
Despite of that, the ability to add connection points between two different image-parts, can help tremendously. The nowadays free software "PanoramStudio 4" stitching software, has such abilities. I am starting to get the hang of the stitching software.
Certainly not 100% perfect, but close to perfect. The niggles i usually iron out laterm, manually in Photoshop. The VERTEX method tends to produce 4 images where at the very borders a slightly darker (diffuse) stripe is visible (for reasons unknown). This can sometimes create an ever so slightly darker stripe in the middle of the stitched image (it isn't very pronounced, but it is there). It is those parts i have to correct manually, later in Photoshop.
But it works ! (instead of not working at all).
When stitching works in Photoshop / Lightroom, the bordert-stripes usually get filtered out entirely - and therefore don't pose any problem.
