I am still fighting with myself, revolving the TTArtisan 100/2.8 2x Macro lens (GFX mount), to use or not to use as a scanning lens (for 6x7 negatives).
Because the extreme corner are simply not really sharp.
I checked around, and it seems like the issue with blurry corners is actually more attributed to the lens, than the VALOI 120 scanning device.
Once you do get the 6x7 negatives into the holders, make sure carefully that it sits well - even it is loose on each cut end - but often it works. But it is the TTArtisan lens, that spooks... with somewhat blurry corners. Where the film grain is smeared.
And that irritates me. A lot !
Either / Or
i keep the TTArtisan 100/2.8 2x Macro lens, as a poetic close-up lens.
Or
I send it back to Amazon and with the money I the Tamron SP 90/2.8 VC Macro lens via eBay in Germany. That lens performed admirably on the GFX as a SCANNING lens; with the best performance of all lenses i have tested with scanning 120-film negatives. No no dark corners, Excellent sharpness all the way into the extreme corners
