The weekend is pretty sunny - but COLD. There is no warmth in the air, really.

Last night temperatures dipped down to -5°C in Tullinge, south of Stockholm. Now, early evening along the east coast of Middle Sweden, I see temperatures between 4°C (Outer Archipelago) to 10°C to the west, a bit inland such as Eskilstuna (10.2°C) and Floda (11.1°C). While Stockholm City reports 6.8°C, Tullinge 5.9°C, as well Snösätra 6°C. Not much warmth to write home about, really.

West Southern Sweden

have higher temperatures, between 10-14°C. (Gothenburg got at the most 15.2°C, highest in Sweden today).

I suspect that it is the winds which causes the cool weather here in the East, combined with the cold water of the Baltic Sea and the winds from the north, due to that Stockholm still lies on the east side of a high pressure area. So yes, it makes sense that despite the relatively sunny weather - we got actually cold temperatures, with frost every night.

The normal MAX temperatures for this time of the year in Stockholm would be around 13.5°C. So yeah, it is indeed colder than normal.

Outlook - a mixed bag

Tomorrow it will get a lot milder, with temperatures up to 15°C in Stockholm, as the core of the high pressure area moves to Poland - giving way for a milder airmass into our region, with SW winds (coming from the inland, instead of the city sea), which ensures warmer weather this time of the year.

With all that, also more clouds will arrive after a while...

Fronts coming in

Clouds, milder air, and even some rain are then moving in. Until it once again, will get colder as north winds came along over entire Scandinavia - pressing down on the temperatures, with widespread frost at night.

Well, well... "April, April - gör vad den vill". Means something like April does whatever it want to do. But this type of weather can easily extend into May at our latitudes.
