What a difference !

The other evening it was just 2-3°C cold, and this evening my thermometer showed a value of 15° right after sunset. You step out of the balcony, and feel that mildness in the air. The surrounding, blossoming trees reflect a strange mix between warm and cold color nuances, with a tint of red. It is - EVERY TIME - so mesmerizing to welcome spring.

As if it is something totally new.

Or maybe it is a feeling resembling that of meeting a long lost friend; You know, the feeling of joy and warmth in your heart. You are finally here !

FINALLY.

Surprizingly mild

That startled me was that it still is so mild in the evening around 21.00 - I didn't expected that. I just thought th temperatures would be higher today - but once you enter evening time, they would once again, go down quickly. The other morning it was very cold, between -5°C and -6.5°C in places like Tullinge and Åkersberga far outside of Stockholm. Even in the city there was frost.

Nevertheless, a cold front is already lurking just north of the city... It appears to be a weak cold front, though. And there is plenty of disturbances that are predicted to roam around, from west to east over our part of the world. So, nothing stable is predicted. Instead more of a mixed bag in the next days - with MAX themperatures between 13-16°C. Which by the way are normal temperatures once again.

However, the beginning of May in the near field prognosis, looks like it will establish much colder than normal weather, with MAX between 8-11°C only. (Normal would be 15°C).

Brrrr.

Coldfront bow with thunderstorms

This "bow" had created thunderstorms around 17:30 over Southern Norrland on its way southwards. It is just about to enter our space here in Stockholm, fizzled however out and there are no thunderstorms left. They died out once they reached Gävle around 19:00 - but the bow was still pronounced and sharp. until now as it enters Stockholm, it starts to break up.
