Who would have thought - but this mediumformat zoom is actually an impressive piece of lens. It is lighter than i expected, and pretty long. The sharpness is already very good at wide open aperture, both at 150mm as well 300mm (tested with my Fujifilm 50s II camera). Stopped down it got hardly better, being already sharp. Chromatic aberration I have not yet seen much of (it is very, very little).
I took images on a tripod, with 2s delay and electronic shutter, and no image stabilization.
I wouldn't want to take images handheld with this long lens and manual focus. So, in order to get that fine sharpness, i do recommend a tripod. (I will of course one day test it with IS handheld... just to get a feeling).
Noticeable is also the swirling atmosphere in the distance, now that there is a sun heating the air, even in our kind of weather with 16-17°C, it does flimmer a lot.
But hey, this lens was not only a strong bargain with 215 € inducing shipping and 25% tax. It is also a top performing lens. You might want to add some extra color in order to make them pop a bit more.
Overall - I am really impressed - truly !
I now have to find a good solution to make this lens less wobbly with my current tripod setup. I have various options already, so it isn't a problem. The way i mounted the plates today, made it more wobbly than i am used to - so that I have to change with this lens.
Lens hood is mandatory with this lens !!!
It is a 120-240 mm lens on Fujifilm GFX cameras
On a Fujifilm GFX camera, the Pentax 645 FA 150-300mm lens turns into an equivalent of a 120-240 mm zoom. You calculate the original focal length with factor 0.79x
