After an "endless row of holidays", some of my ordered figures from X-Men and Star Wars have arrived / arrive today ready to collect at our Faux post office.

• Ahsoka Tano
• Mandalorian
• Cassian Andor
• Darth Vader
• The Falcon Millennium starship

A little later

• X-Men Psylocke (as corrupted "Lady Mandarin")
• Wolverine arrive next weekday, 2nd or 3rd Jan.

Together with the figure stands - which I now realize that they are necessary: in order to get the figures stand (more) securely, and to be able to make them appear to be "in motion" alt "flying". Without any stands, they barely stand / are difficult to get standing when change the position of their arms and legs.

More figures shortly after around 5th Jan:

• R2-D2 [16 Jan]
• X-Men Logo lamp
• Star Wars lamp [3 Feb]
• Dementor ghost (Harry Potter)
• Stormtrooper

I absolutely love the figures

Like a teenager collecting them, eager to get more *LOL* However, I am not a die-hard collector. I certainly don't need all of them - because that would be over the top, and i wouldn't really utilize them in my light painting photography.

Anyway - Geek or not geek - most people are familiar with the Star Wars figures through time - so there is a cozy feeling attached to them. They are cool and part of our entertainment culture since 1977

"V" TV series

I would LOVE to get my hands on one of the MOTHERSHIPS from the "V" TV series (the original, classic TV-series from the 80s). They are soooo coool. I have seen somebody at eBay, making them in Spain.

So, yeah - perhaps a mothership will be on my list soon. Everything else surrounding the "V" Series on eBay is pretty expensive, and not of my interest, really. Plus there isn't much in terms of models or figures. Just boring stuff.

The first five episodes became a Cult Classic

Through out life, i always remembered (and used) some of the onliners from the "V" Series. I can still some of them word by word.

Chief officer:
"Good work, Daniel"

Diana (Lizard Queen):
" Congratulations. I wished we had more like you"

Julia Parrish (chief resistant fighter):
"Oh yes... Congratulation on selling your people to a bunch of night crawlers"

*SLAP* [Diana smacks Julia in the face]

Diana to Julia
"You need an attitude adjustment, my dear... And it will be my pleasure to give it to you"

Diana to chief officer:
"Put her on board of my ship - IF you can manage that !!"

Back in Stockholm in 1985 when it first time aired in Sweden (we recorded it to VHS cassettes) - I was like dazzled / captured. Totally blown away. Likely watched it 100 times. It was so different from anything I had seen before (on TV in the backyard land of Sweden, I mean). In those days, we had only two State TV channels.

The later episodes of "V" however - shall I call it season 2 - where really not good. More like a soap opera with weird twists. Things felt cheaper, as if the series had huge budget cuts. Even the script itself felt a lot cheaper. Diana was running around in her red pants, calling everybody incompetent.

So, there was that.

$1000 for every laser shot (1983)

It were the first FIVE episodes ("The Original Mini Series" + "The Final Battle") which became a huge success. Speaking of special: Every single laser shot - cost $ 1000 back in 1983 (to transfer onto film material). That must be like $2000 today. Imagine that...

The Visitor's Mothership

I am actually only interested into the "V" mothership - and always had a keen eye on it. The price from Spain is reasonable at around 100 € for a disk around 20 cm diameter. (It seems to be handmade / 3D printed) No import nor extra 25% tax apply - which is a relief.

A "V" Mothership is perfect for photography and tricks. I believe there was also a version with illuminated from inside - but twice the price. It ain't pretty as a lamp - absolutely not. But for a "V" fan, it is very cool to see a mothership like that at home. (I might prefer the non-illuminated version, but I am not sure yet).

The "V" mothership is such a classic !!
